Sponges can be used to create soft, textured backgrounds that add depth and interest to your projects.
This is a simple technique that gives beautiful results with very little effort.
Technique:
For this technique, I used a facial cleansing sponge, which works perfectly because of the natural holes in the sponge.

1. Apply ink to the sponge.

2. Mist the inked sponge.

3. Press the sponge onto your cardstock.

4. Repeat the process using different colours to build up the background.

When done in blues and greens, this technique creates a beautiful underwater effect.

Products used:
- Inks – I used Distress Oxide inks (Peacock Feathers, Broken China and Rustic Wilderness)
- Paper
Tools used:
- Facial sponge
- Mister with water
