I love creating memory pages of my ancestors, especially if I knew them! This is my great grandmother, Wiesie. The photo was taken when she was 16 years old in 1900. She was studying to become a teacher at the time.
Remember that your photos should always be the most important part of your page. I created this single page layout to preserve this beautiful photo of my great grandmother just starting off in life!
Method:
This single page layout of my great grandmother Wiesie was a perfect page to use a paper punch quilt on. A page with a vintage feel was chosen for the background.

The paper punch quilt was created by punching 18 hexagons from various pieces of scrapbooking paper scraps with a hexagon punch.

Other punches like a diamond or a square punch can also be used to create a paper punch quilt.

Each hexagon was inked around the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool.

You can also add some faux stitching with a pen around the edges.

It was then arranged in a way that I found pleasing.

You can also use a paper punch quilt to create a complete background like in this example:

The photo mat was created from Salmon coloured AC Cardstock by using a border punch set that includes a corner punch.

My great grandmother’s nick name was cut from Coffee coloured AC Cardstock by using a Silhouette Cameo and added as the title. Pearls were used to finish off the title.

Some relevant information like her date of birth, birthplace and full names were added to a vellum information block framed by a label holder cut with my Silhouette Cameo from Coffee coloured cardstock and fixed to the page with bronze brads.

It was finished off with some Brilliance Galaxy Gold ink to add interest to the label holder, a little paper flower, a leaf and some pearls as the flower middle.
