Stamping with plants Technique

Stamping with plants

A fun technique is to use plant material to stamp with. This stamping with plants technique creates beautiful custom background pages that can be used in your crafting.

Technique:

The following video shows this fun technique:

  1. Collect some plant material from your garden or the park. Look for leaves with rather flat surfaces that will make good “stamps”. I found that these fern leaves and Ivy leaves really works well:

  1. Ink the plant material up with some ink. You can use any ink that is not quick drying, like Distress Oxide ink. Brilliance ink also works very well and ads some shine to the prints:

  1. Now press down the inked leaves on your cardstock.
  2. It is a good idea to place a rubber stamping pad or a foam sheet underneath the cardstock. This gives you something to stamp into and improves the stamped image that you will get.
  3. Use different leaves and different colours of ink to create interesting backgrounds.
