Bokeh or bubble effects have always fascinated me. Here I used two different techniques to create bokeh or bubble effect backgrounds. For the first one I used some Distress Inks and baby wipes. The second one was created with some Distress Oxide Inks and Picket Fence Distress Ink.

Technique 1:
The following video shows the technique clearly:
- Blend various colours of Distress Inks onto a piece of white cardstock using a blending tool.
- When you are happy that your piece of cardstock is covered with the colours you want (I used Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Tumbled Glass and Mowed Lawn), grab a circle stencil and start removing some ink through the stencil with a baby wipe.
- Remove more ink in some places and less in others through smaller and larger circles to create this bokeh look.
This will result in a beautiful bokeh/bubble effect background that you can use with any craft project.

Technique 2:
The following video shows this technique clearly:
- Blend various colours of Distress Oxide Inks onto a piece of white cardstock using a blending brush.
- When you are happy that your piece of cardstock is covered with the colours you want (I used Brocken China, Uncharted Mariner, Prize Ribbon and Salty Ocean), wait until it is dry and then grab a circle stencil and start adding some Picket Fence Distress Ink through the stencil with a blending tool.
- Add more ink in some places and less in others through smaller and larger circles to create this bokeh look.
This will also result in a beautiful bokeh/bubble effect background that you can use with any craft project.
