Dip Technique

Dip Technique result

This DIP technique is a technique made popular by Tim Holtz. It can be used to create beautiful background and to colour paper flowers and other paper embellishments.

Technique:

The following video shows this technique beautifully:

  1. Just dab various colours of ink on a Teflon craft sheet (ink that can be used as watercolour-type paint works best).
  2. I used Distress Oxide inks (my favourite, don’t tell anyone).
  3. Use a mini mister and spray/spritz lightly with some water.
  4. Take a piece of cardstock and dip, dip, dip on the various colours.
  5. If you missed a spot just dip again!
  6. When YOU are HAPPY with the result let it dry.

The result is a beautiful mix of colours!

Products used:

  • Distress Oxide ink – Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Shaded Lilac (Ranger)
  • Smooth Cardstock – white

Tools used:

  • Teflon craft sheet
  • Mini mister with water
