Memento LUXE ink is yet another versatile ink from Tsukineko. I used Memento LUXE Elderberry for my tests.
(Please note that this ink was not included in the original test documents from the Playing with Inks range, but you can easily add the results to the bottom of the downloadable table)
Let’s see what we can discover about the properties of Memento LUXE:
A water-based pigment ink for mixed media applications. Ideal for paper, fabric, wood, leather and more (according to the manufacturer). It also states that it can be heat set for permanence on porous surfaces like fabric with the images remaining vibrant on textiles even after repeated washing.

It is available in a full-size inkpad and a re-inker. Memento LUXE is available in 24 colours that coordinate with the Memento inks.
Stamping with Memento LUXE Ink:
This ink gives a perfect clear, detailed image when stamped. It is an opaque ink and not shiny.

I was very surprised that after the stamped image was dry, I could paint over it with both water and alcohol without moving the ink. I would have thought that a water-based ink will be moved by water.

It is a pigment ink and that makes it perfect to stamp on a dark background.

When stamped on glossy photo paper it gives a perfect clear image. It dries quite fast which is really good when used on a glossy surface.

Other uses for Memento LUXE Ink:
Memento LUXE is water-based and blends easily with water. It is perfect to use as a watercolour-type paint and it creates perfect splats.

It coloured the gel medium as well as the gesso without a problem and the resulting colours were very rich.

Memento LUXE is a rich, creamy ink and it “moves” very well on paper. It is perfect to use with stencils, to chalk page edges and to blend with on paper.

It doesn’t dry as fast on a porous surface and this makes it a wonderful base for heat embossing. Of all the inks I tested, it is my opinion that this ink gave the best result when used to heat emboss with.

My Conclusion about Memento LUXE ink:
This was the first time that I used Memento LUXE ink and I was very impressed with the results. It is a good all-round ink and I will definitely be supplementing my ink collection with some more of these inks.
I hope this gives you a good idea of the properties and uses of Memento LUXE ink. Remember to play with your inks to find new and interesting ways to incorporate it into your craft projects.
