Wendy Vecchi Make Art Blendable Dye Ink from Ranger is an ink that can be used successfully for various applications. I used the colour Garden Patina for my tests.
(Please note that this ink was not included in the original test documents from the Playing with Inks range, but you can easily add the results to the bottom of the downloadable table)
Let’s discover the properties of Make Art Ink:
Ranger describes it as being great for creating backgrounds, stamping and stenciling. As the name indicates this is a dye ink also good for blending.

It is available in a medium sized ink pad and a re-inker. The ink pad has some indents on the sides that makes it really easy to hold onto the ink pad. The range of 12 colours are truly bright and lively.
Stamping with Make Art Ink:
The Make Art stamped image is clear and solid showing all the details of the stamp. This is a matt ink, so no shiny image.

The dried stamped image is slightly affected by water. The alcohol did not move the ink at all.

As this is a dye ink, it does not show up when stamped on a dark background.
Make Art ink can stamp on glossy photo paper, but it was not as solid as on porous paper. The image looks distressed.

Other uses for Make Art Ink:
This ink is water-based as it blends with water and can create beautiful splats and be used as a watercolour-type paint.

Gel medium and gesso is easily coloured with Make Art ink. I was impressed by the brightness of the gel and gesso after being coloured with Make Art ink.

This ink was designed to be blendable. It “moves” very well on paper and can successfully be used for ink blending, stenciling and chalking. The colour blends smoothly.

This is a wet ink and it can be used to heat emboss with. My test didn’t give a very good result though and I will not use it for this purpose.

My Conclusion about Make Art Ink:
This was the first time that I used Make Art ink and I am very impressed. The colours are bright and the ink works very well especially for blending and stenciling. I also liked the size of the ink pad and how the sides are indented for easy holding.
Remember that there might be many more uses for this ink. Play with your inks to discover more ways to use them.
