Printing Borderless via Silhouette Studio

I received a request today to explain how I print digital scrapbook paper borderless on my A3 printer from my Silhouette Studio software.

Digital pages printed 30.5 x 30 cm to fit A3 pages

PLEASE NOTE:

To compile these instructions, I used the following software and equipment:

  • Printer – HP Officejet 7612
  • Silhouette Studio Designer Edition Software – Release 4.1.479ssde
  • Digital scrapbook paper from ScrapbookStudio

I use my Silhouette Studio software to print on A3 as I find it easier so see what I will be printing. The basic Silhouette Studio software is free to download from the Silhouette America Website.

The available printing options might differ for different printers.

Not all printers have a BORDERLESS function/option. In that case you should leave extra space on the sides when you follow instructions 7&8.

PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Open a new page in the DESIGN section of the Silhouette Studio Software

2. Open the digital paper file that you want to print

3. Open the PAGE SETUP window

4. In the PAPER SIZE option choose A3

5. In the CUTTING MAT option choose the CAMEO 12x24inch cutting mat (you don’t have to own a cutting mat, this is just to see the A3 layout better.)

6. The RED line indicates the printing area if you print borderless

7. You can see that you can choose to print the paper the full 12x12inch size, but then a piece will be cut off on the one side

8. The other option is to make the paper a little bit smaller if you want a perfect square (this is what I did on my “Life’s a journey” page)

9. Click on the PRINT button at the top of the page

10. Click on PREFERENCES

11. Go to the PAPER/QUALITY tab and click on ADVANCED

12. Click on BORDERLESS PRINTING under the Printer Features heading

13. Click on PRINT BORDERLESS

14. Click OK

15. Under PAPER SIZE choose EDGE-TO-EDGE-A3

16. Under MEDIA choose HP BROCHURE AND FLYER PAPER, MATTE

17. Click OK

18. Click PRINT
