Life’s a Journey

On this page I didn’t use a lot of special techniques. It is important to me to emphasize the photos rather than to crowd the page with special techniques. I did however use digital paper and elements that I bought from Scrapbook Studio.

I would like to give a quick description of how I went about using it:

  • Buy and/or download the digital elements that you want to use
  • Size the paper and elements to the size you require
  • Print the pages or elements that you require
  • Cut the elements out and use on your page

Size, print & cut

The most important thing is to size your downloaded items correctly. I have an A3 printer, so I can make the paper size almost the same as a traditional scrapbook page (30.5 x 30.5cm). You could however make it any size that you want to use on your page. I printed some in (15.25 x 15.25cm) size as well. I prefer to print from my Silhouette Designer software. I find that I can see the fit on the chosen paper size much better. I print the designs on good quality, white, 160gsm board. I buy this from my local stationary shop.

The embellishments I turn into print and cut files in my Silhouette Designer software so that I don’t have to cut everything by hand. You can however print the embellishments and then cut them by hand too.

Why I like to use digital paper & embellishments

It costs about the same to print or buy scrapbooking paper. What I like about digital designs is that you can change the size to what suits your project best. You will also not run out of paper in the middle of your project as you can just print some more!

The best of all is that you never have to wait for the delivery guy or visit a physical shop. Everything happens at you own desk, in your own time!

Look out for my next post (Life’s a Journey Part 2)where I will cover how I made the Foil Flake Title!
